Herpes Zoster: Ophthalmic herpes zoster (herpes zoster ophthalmicus) can present serious problems if it is effecting the actual eye. I do recommend a medical assessment.

Yes: If you have herpes zoster (shingles) involving the eye or the naso-ciliary branch of the first division of the trigeminal nerve (forehead and tip of nose) you need to be on antiviral medications,
