Frequently there is: A history of chicken pox in the past.- contact with others can be a cause if they have open wounds. It is not a good condition to have ; should be treated as soon as suspected. Can leave residual loss of vision.

Yes: Shingles, painful rash that may occur as reaction from dormant chickenpox virus. Once person contracts chickenpox after being exposed to varicella zoster, virus is in inactive form in the nerve roots. If virus travels along trigeminal nerve, one would suffer from ophthalmic pain.Statistics tell us that 10-20% of shingles opthalmic.Most commonly, rash occurs in stripe on one side of chest or abdom.
