I have a pain in my jaw, it is the bone by my ear. i haven't knocked my head or face, it just started out of the blue a few days ago. i can't open my mouth very wide and then it hurts. what could be causing this?

TMJ: Suspect your temporal mandibular joint has been affected. You need tomes your dentist for a panorex film and physical exam to determine why this occurred. Occasionally the muscle on the side of your face (masseter) can go into spasm with similar effect (trismus), but either way it requires an exam. Good,luck
