A member asked:

How much calcium should an individual with hyperthyroidism take a day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Calcium : In addition to treating the hyperthyroidism, patients should take adequate amounts of calcium and vitamin D in their diets, typically 1000 to 1200 mg of calcium (total of diet and supplement) a day and 600 to 800 international units of vitamin D(this is really important because it facilitates absorption of calcium).
