Bruising: You know that periorbital venous congestion - (swelling of nasal tissues can cause blood to pool under the eyes) can look identical to a black eyes for injuries. Please google this to see photographs before you rule that out as a cause. A bump on the forehead or a basilar skull fracture can cause this
