Week 5: A pregnancy test will be positive as soon as the first day of your missed period. For accurate testing, the first morning urine should be used. You can repeat the test 1 week later with a different brand if you want to double check. The initial signs of pregnancy are breast tenderness and enlargement, nausea and dizziness. See a Dr if any of them are positive to begin OB care.

Depends: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
