My baby started solids about three weeks ago. i am only giving him baby cereal twice a day. he breastfeeds mainly, but since he started solids i put some formula milk in his cereal. his been getting painful gas and hasn't pooped today at all.

Some basics: Early introduction goes back to the days they were fed homemade formula that needed extra nutrients. Starting after they sit helps transition to table foods. Any change in their feeds can trigger a change in pooping pattern. Rice cereal is a natural firming agent & reducing the quantity may help.
