Migration effects: Since they have been there a few years the risk of infection is minimal. However, sometimes these foreign objects in active/moving areas like a forearm/wrist may migrate (move) into a position where they can interfere with function or cause pain. If it is stable you can just bring it up at any future doc encounter. Surgical under local anesthetic removal is an option.
