Yes: Bladder infections are caused by bacteria that cause inflammation and pain. The only way to kill them is to use antibiotics specific to the type of bacteria causing your infection. Any Dr can perform a urinalysis and reflux culture to determine best treatment course. Left untreated the infection can travel to your kidneys and cause significant damage. Some burning in urine can be caused by acid.
