No: Coumadin (warfarin) or the new agents such as Pradaxa is recommended in patients with afib.

Plavix (clopidogrel) and afib: Clopidogrel is used in a fib for patients who are not candidate for Coumadin (warfarin) or the new agents to reduce risk of stroke.
