Other OTC meds: I am not sure why your wife's stomach was irritated by zyrtec(i have not seen it in my practice), but i would suggest using another antihistamine such as Claritin or allegra. A prescription nasal antihistamine (astepro, generic azelastine) or nasal steroid can also be used and not have any GI effect.She may also suffer from underlying acid reflux and so a ppi such as otc Prilosec may be helpful.
