Could be: It could be your eustation tubes opening and closing... Especially if it is a clicking type sound... That would be normal. Otherwise i would suggest seeing a physician for an evaluation.

Some individuals: have altered or abnormal tongue positioning for swallowing and speech. Airway variations or inadequacies may also be at play. These can result in having air being swallowed in addition to the food/saliva. Do you find you have to belch/burp frequently? Consider having a swallowing evaluation and airway evaluation.
