I have been experiencing on and off shortness of breath since sunday, chest pain and tightness as well as general body weakness and slight on and off headaches. should i go to the hospital? i wouldn't want to use essential resources other people need

Severity of SX?: How severe are symptoms? Get emergency care for significant difficulty breathing, blue lips or face or new onset confusion.

See your doctor 1st.: Unless you have very significant risk factors, unlikely that your symptoms are due to heart disease. However it is wise to have an outpatient evaluation. Strong risk factors would include a family history of premature heart disease, inherited lipid disorder etc. An outpatient examination and imaging studies may be adequate to make a decision.
