Depends: A lung function study is usually performed as part of an evaluation by a pulmonary specialist or allergist who treats asthma. Who & where this may be available in your region is not something we would know. Your treating doc should have that information. There are some simple hand held devices called peak flow meters that permit a patient to monitor some function at home.

Pre/Post BD: The test should be completed with pre and post the use of Albuterol. Please check with your local children's hospital or pediatric pulmonary specialist for details of the procedure. Many offices are not offering the test during the COVID 19 outbreak. Your pediatrician may have additional information, but it is a good test to complete. Most children at the age of 5-6 years are able to do so.
