Basics: You can certainly gain with a balanced diet just the same as an unbalanced one when the total intake of calories is more than your body needs. You may want to consult a clinical nutritionist (hospitals/diet centers have them) to find out what your needs are & how to stabilize or lose weight. Discussing when/how/what you eat is important. Exercise can also help but not as much as diet modification
