Treating Mgenitalium: First, most Mycoplasma genitalium probably is harmless. It can cause nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), but a positive test doesn't necessarily mean M. gen is the cause. Second, many or most strains M. genitalium are resistant to azithromycin. If your doctor or clinic is confident M gen is the likely cause of your symptoms, s/he should prescribe a different antibiotic, probably moxifloxacin.
