A member asked:

If i have fungal infection on lips, and am doing the lozenges, can i still put lip balm for dryness or does this make the fungal worse or keep it there? so far first day of treatment, white patches have fallen off. does it thrive off moisture?

Avoid lip balm: a fungal infection on the lips thrives on moisture and saliva irritation of the lip skin. Avoid licking your lips, lip balm and lipstick until totally clear. Throw away any lip balm/lipstick that has touched your lips during this infection as they are most likely contaminated. Also avoid kissing, oral sex and touching your lips as this can spread the infection also. Infection should clear in 3-5 d
