Evaluation: Many insurance companies are now providing coverage for psychiatric evaluations/ care via virtual or telemedicine. Recommend that you consider contacting a child psychiatrist or psychologist and requesting an assessment. Sometimes school systems help out with evaluations from developmental psychologists.

In-person exam: Autism is a serious, permanent neurological, psychiatric condition with mostly unknown causes and no cure. Autism is likely a group of separate disorders that have similar symptoms, the details of which await our discovery. A parent should not let anyone label her child with the diagnosis of autism without a thorough in-person exam and interview, along with a discussion of the family history.

Check with PCP: I would start with Your PCP to identify a child Psychiatrist that they typically work with , and as already mentioned many people are doing evaluations at a distance either over the phone or video. A definitive diagnosis of Autism may be unrealistic in some circumstances over the phone, depending on how imp[aired your daughters are
