My husband came into contact 9 days ago with my brother in-law who tested positive for covid 19 today, do we need to get ourselves tested? i am pregnant and asthmatic, i have two kids aswell im a bit concerned

Basics: A person is considered contagious from 2 days before until at least 2 wks of symptoms. Going somewhere for a test may expose you to other active cases for information that may not be accurate. Those with the most need would be short of breath or have difficulty breathing since they require hospital care. Kids seem to have little risk as do those under 40. The choice is yours.

Yes: Yes all contacts and household members should be tested. The incubation period may vary. Continue your asthma plan as directed, and watch for signs of fever, flu like symptoms and loss of taste or smell. Please obtain testing and contact your OB specialist.
