Pain from rib: It's common to have pain when bending in that position. Gentle stretching, and slowly reaching full flexion of the back (rather than doing it quickly) will help. It's your body's way of telling you you're not ready to bend to that extreme just yet. Also, working on core/abd strengthening can help over time.
