Shingles?: This could be an early sign of shingles, the skin rash caused by reactivation of an old chickenpox virus that lays dormant for years in a peripheral nerve. I saw 1 case of "chest pain" that was extensively evaluated, only for a classic shingles rash to pop out after seven days! Injury and heavy breathing during exercise are possible. See a doctor if it persists, worsens or a rash occurs.
