A member asked:

Hi. i am 30yrs african male. my aunt died of prostate cancer @ 60. my uncle 58 got diagnosed as well. my grandfather died at around 70 same thing. my dad 52 doesn't know yet. for me though when should i get tested or see a gp on this matter?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can call Dr on video: One's primary care doctor, who should already know this medical history, can help decide the cancer screening needed. If one's primary care doctor does not yet have this information, just write in detail listing each relative who has a major condition, when it happened, and when death was, to show the doctor. The "aunt" with prostate cancer will be both rare and interesting to the doctor.
