Psoriasis, melanoma : Hormones, medications and dye can give brown color spots on nails, usually multiple nails are involved. Round brown spot if pitted can be sign of psoriasis. Melanoma of skin can also cause similar symptoms especially if it is enlarging. Please see a dermatologist soon. I hope it helps.
