A member asked:

I got splashed with dirty water when washing my face and wash basin was blocked up. can coronavirus and salmonella live in blocked up water?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Depending on users, blocked sink water may contain some bacteria or mold that can be easily washed off the contaminated skin. Most harmful viruses do not survive long in such water since it also contains soap residues..but good washing with soap and water is adequate
