About oral sex...: Normal, everyday types of oral sex are not the way HIV infections transmit. If a person is doing atypical activities or doing oral sex activities at an atypical frequency, or if a person knows for sure the partner has HIV, then one's primary care doctor can help decide if there is any need to worry. One cannot catch HIV from a partner UNLESS the partner has HIV. Routine screening is fine to do.
