Great Question: Obviously wear a mask until you're seated is a good idea. Ask the office how they are scheduling patients.... one per hour, or packed waiting room? You can request a specific time, and have them call you on your cell as you wait outside the office until dentist is ready to put you in the operatory. In this way you will minimize contact with other patients. All the best...

Covid: At your age risk of severe problem from the disease is 0.2%. That is less than problem from flu. Continue to take precautions. One issue that may help is to see if your dentist will let you sit in the car till your appointment. This way you could keep isolated as much as possible till actual visit.

Follow instructions: Your Dentist will have gone to great lengths to assure your safety, including staggered scheduling, personal protective equipment, shielding, distancing, etc. Call the office when you arrive. Expect to wait outside until the call you in. Don't forget to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, make sure to wash hands often. If you do contract Covid it won't be from the dental office.
