Return to Dentist: You did not mention where the cold sore was? You also did not mention which tooth was extracted? Was it a lower tooth? Is the sore on your lower lip,cheek ,gums or tongue or fllor of the mouth? Did the cold sore appaer after the extraction? There can be two answers. One is a normal cold sore,also called apthous ulcer, which can last for about 10 days & then heals by itself. If it is painful, apply
