A member asked:

Have we started to see a so-called flattening of the curve yet in regards to covid-19 cases in the u.s.? have read reports on increased number of deaths but then they also mention signs of a downturn.

Yes: The reporting is confusing as it only mentions new cases and deaths without mentioning ratio of positives/ overall cases. Once the actual ratio starts flattening or decreasing which in many states happens and/or happened restrictions are relaxed. Deaths reflect severe cases that contracted the disease weeks ago.

COVID 19: In NewYork city the curve was flattened and beaten down. But since then the curve has been rising overall especially in states that opened early like Florida, Texas and Arizona. Please remember that there will be a lag time between infection and deaths.
