A member asked:

I am woried that i have covid. however, when i call urgent care they told me to stay home and not to come in. they also said the tests often show a fast negative. how accurate are the covid tests and is there a point to take them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Covid-19: if you are not very sick (ie short of breath) you don't have to see your doctor, you can just call him. Symptoms of Covid-19 include fever, cough and shortness of breath. The test has a 25% false negative rate which means that 25% of the time the test is wrong.
