Gentle removal: Gently remove scales with a baby comb. Avoid rubbing or irritating the area. Shampoo with a gentle baby shampoo and please see your pediatrician for additional treatment as indicated. Usually with these measures, cradle cap will improve.

Basics: Cradle cap is basically old skin flakes that will not let go of the layers beneath normally. Natural skin oils can remain & have glue like properties. Baby shampoos & bath soap do not have the chemical composition to break down these oils. A simple dandruff shampoo kneaded into the scalp over several days will loosen this.You must keep the suds away from the eyes & rinse well.
