A member asked:

Why do i alway have heartburn at night and is it serious if it only happen during bed time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unusual : When you lie down, it’s very typical for acid from the stomach to slosh into the esophagus especially if you have a very lax lower esophageal sphincter. It would help if you could raise your upper body to 45° with pillows or of course you can take things like Prilosec. If you can avoid medications is always better. Google GERD
