Leg cramps: If the symptoms are never present during the day, it is unlikely to be a neurological problem. There are many causes of nighttime leg cramps: idiopathic (no explainable cause), potassium or magnesium or calcium deficiency , & a few others (some basic blood tests can evaluate for these). A trial of a supplement with calcium & magnesium at bedtime for a few weeks plus stretching the calves is good
