How dangerous is a miscarriage? what is the death rate. i had a silent/ missed miscarriage and now i am just waiting for it to pass, but i am terrified and when it starts i just want to run to the er even though it probably isn't necessary.

Risks are low: The worst that you are likely to experience is very heavy bleeding and severe cramping for an hour or so. If it lasts longer than that or the bleeding is really heavy or you are running a fever you may need to go to an ER (maybe 5% of the time). Your risk of dying is extremely, extremely low.
