Might be normal: Menstruation is when the body sloughs off the inner lining of the uterus and expels it. There can be a normal variation in this including light flow, spotting, to heavy bleeding and clots. If there is any chance you could be pregnant, or if you continue bleeding heavily, having to change your pad or tampon less than two hours , you should see a dr for an exam.

Clumps: Could be heavier period than normal. Other possibilities would be an infection. Yeast infection can mix with blood and be clumpy.
