May not delay period: ellaOne is an emergency contraceptive pill containing 30 mg of ulipristal acetate, a progesterone receptor modulator. It is effective for up to 5 days after unprotected sex. It is currently available in some countries in Europe. It is more effective than Plan B. It shuts down the progesterone support for a developing pregnancy, and this would likely start up bleeding.
