Irregular bleeding: It is never a bad idea to rule out pregnancy. Over the counter urine pregnancy tests are pretty reliable. Once pregnancy is ruled out, other hormonal imbalances can be investigated, such as thyroid disorders or polycystic ovary syndrome. If a pregnancy test is positive your should contact your primary care provider.
