How to see if an infant (1month) is constipated? and at what point does it become a cause for concern?

Basics: Constipation in an infant means they pass hard or dry stools. If it is soft when they go it is not. Young infants have weak belly muscles & often use their fussing/breathing muscles to push food along or poop out. This makes the belly seem hard & many think they are in pain.
