Needs to be removed: Any foreign object left in the vaginal tract will result in irritation and potentially an infection. It is important to determine if there is anything left there. Manual extraction under strong light by a nurse practitioner or doctor may be needed. Be assured, though that the vagina is a pouch with no outlet except for the cervix which is tightly closed. It cannot travel into your abdomen.
