Do ct scans cause cancer? i got a ct scan done on my head and abdominal with contrast at only 20/female. i'm very worried about it now and if it will impact my future cancer risk. how do we know how risky/dangerous these scans are?

Don't worry: Although radiation exposure from x-rays or CT scan can (very minimally) increase your cancer risk... the risk from one CT scan of head and one of abdomen would be extremely small! If you had many tests, there is an additive effect which at some point might raise a little concern. As we get older, cancer itself does become more common (maybe 1/3 of us over our lifetime), but not from one CT scan.
