My 16 yr old son woke up with a swelling on his right side of the neck and today it's even bigger. he is not feeling any pain at all.

Possibilities: Within the neck there are many lymph nodes that can become reactive and or infected. They are generally peanut sized or smaller at rest but can swell to golf ball size or larger if infected. There are some rare cysts that can show up in the area. You can monitor it for a while, but if it becomes painful, continues to enlarge or persists more than 2-3 wks I would have him evaluated.
