Vasovagal reaction: Needle sticks, such as to draw blood or give immunizations, especially painful ones, occasionally produce what is called a vasovagal response or vasovagal reaction. This may involve anxiety, lightheadedness, and nausea such as you experienced. There are usually no lasting effects. Hopefully you now feel better.
