A member asked:

If you get yeast infections often, does that mean your more likely to catch novel coronavirus, and when you catch it, to have a worse case of covid?

Yeast infection: The presence of yeast infection does not increase your risk for coronavirus. Patients who have history of chronic diseases such as cardiac, copd, history of cancer, organ transplant, immune deficiency, and diabetes who happen to have yeast infection are more susceptible. If you are concerned, call or visit your doctor.

not to worry: Having a yeast infection is not a risk factor for catching COVID 19 or developing more severe symptoms. Uncontrolled underlying conditions that ^ risk include liver or chronic lung disease, chronic kidney disease with dialysis, diabetes, severe obesity, serious cardiac illness, being immunocompromised (immunodeficiency, cancer treatments, transplant recipients, smokers & chronic steroid use).
