38y health care provider with asthma.. to our knowledge they have not admitted /treated a positive patient and no positive contact. presents with worsening symptoms for 4/7... cough, dyspnoea, malaise, sore throat.?self isolation or test?

Test: Since there is an underlying health condition, I would advise that they be tested. Upon return to the medical center, the healthcare worker should be test negative. They should follow their asthma action plan, including steroid preparations. Please also screen for influenza and other respiratory viruses which may worsen asthma control. Please see the Emergency department for coordination of care.
