A member asked:

Which potential problems does bacteria resistance to antibiotics in tuberculosis cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Harder to cure...: If a person has a strain of TB that is resistant to some of the drugs that are usually given to treat tb, then the healthcare providers who are taking care of the patient have fewer "weapons" to treat the infection. Sometimes combining several drugs may help. Sometimes it may take many months of therapy to rid the person of infection. Being compliant with the drug schedule is very important.
