My mother takes navalpro. she takes 2 x 300 in the morning and then 2x200 in the evening. they have just discovered the pharmacy gave her 500mg instead of 200mg. would it be a problem to start taking a 500mg instead of the 2 x 200 mg?

Valproate dose: If she takes 500 mg in the evening instead of the usual 400 mg (2 x 200 mg), that would be ok for now. The usual adult dose range for valproate is 1000 to 2000 mg per day, so she is still in a safe range. When safe to have pharmacist redispense her regular dose, she can resume her regular regimen.
