Is iv fluid just like drinking water ?

No: IV fluid will have components added to water to make it an appropriate addition to the bloodstream. The blood as a fluid is a mixture of cells. water, salt, glucose & various proteins. Drinking water will give you that component but not the extra material that helps with whatever the reason is for its use.
