Call Dr. by video: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor (call first) if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. COVID-19 infections tend to have cough, whereas strep usually lacks cough but has more throat pain.

Sore Throat: Please do not assume anything. There are a number of possibilities, including anxiety and a simple sore throat. Please see your doctor. He/she will help you sort things out. Peace and good health.

COVID 19: I wouldn't make any assumptions. This could be due to a number of different conditions - one of which is COVID 19. Consider an evaluation with your doctor (many physicians are doing virtual or telemedicine evaluations.)
