May, may not: Studies are being done continuously regarding dementing illnesses. Generally, high cholesterol levels will insidiously cause arteries to clog, even those of the brain. With a long standing, chronic decreased blood flow from clogged arteries, areas of the brain can become affected causing dementia. A severe clog or occlusion can even lead to a stroke.
