Not inevitable: Death occurs in only a small minority of Covid-19 infections, primarily in those with underlying conditions such as advanced age, lung disease, diabetes, renal failure, obesity. The time of onset is often difficult to pinpoint. And disease progression rate varies dramatically with or without intervention/treatment/hospitalization. So no way to answer this. Best treatment by far is prevention.

Time to death: Most people do NOT die from COVID 19. If you really want to know - I invite you read the following article which uses a model with data from Wuhan. The mean time from onset to death will differ widely depending on age and underlying conditions the patient has.
