Probably not: According to a few studies , alcohol based sanitizer does not seem to cause increased staph resistance , partly because of the rapid killing of bacteria and evaporation of alcohol , avoiding persistent low levels of alcohol which could create resistance . (However , another bacteria ,E. faecium , which causes hospital acquired infections, is becoming tolerant of alcohol )
